Thoughts That Touch My Heart

"We are each offered daily opportunities by God to be healed of wounds. Though the process will certainly be at times painful, it will be well worth the struggle. Yet, there are no shortcuts, only detours of denial. And unless we allow God to heal us we will remain stuck in cycles of grief, masking our pain. Battling confusion, shame and anger, we will fight isolation and even depression. Only God can break this discouraging cycle and bring about the resolution and healing we each so desperately need. If we allow Him, He will help us work through the pain, bringing us to a safe place of healing and hope. As the prophet Jeremiah wrote, “Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise.”" (Jeremiah 17:14, ESV)-Francis Anfuso
