On January 24, 2012, I visited with someone very special to me who is going through a
challenging time. He is my son, Jason. He received more discouraging news. I cried on the way
home. When I checked my e-mail, the following verse was in my
inbox..."God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in
trouble." (Psalm 46:1) Then, later in the afternoon, I received another
verse in my e-mail inbox..."The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a
stronghold in times of trouble." (Psalm 9:9) I sent these to him. That night, as I stood on the porch listening to the rain, I prayed that
God would be an ever-present help, a refuge, and a stronghold for this
precious person who means so much to me.
