More than a Thank You

Gary & Sherri,

Today, I received the vase full of beautiful flowers from you.  Thank you, so very much!  In the midst of all that is going on, it is such a blessing to know you thought of doing something like that for me on Valentine's Day. If I may, I would like to share something deeper, with you, regarding the flowers that you sent to me.  Here it is~~

Today, as I was praying, I sensed I was to ask God to "do something BIG for me today."  I did not have particular thing in mind, just BIG.  Well, I wasn't home when the flowers came.  However, a nice card was left on my front door handle, and the driver left a message on my voice mail.  He had left the flowers with my next door neighbor.

When I picked up the vase full of fresh flowers, I noticed there was one single red tulip in the flowers.  I told God that I thought that was odd, one single red tulip in February, and I told Him I thought that was neat.

Later, I took myself out to dinner.  While at dinner, I sensed to ask God, again, to "do something BIG for me today," so I did.  On the way home, God impressed it upon me to take the card that was left on my door to the neighbor who accepted the flowers.  There was a "neighbor gift" awaiting my neighbor, at the florist, for taking the flowers.  On the way home, I asked God what was the one single red tulip about.  I heard, in my spirit, "a new season...Spring...a new season...there is going to be a new season for you...something new...something fresh."  I thought that was neat.

So, I came home, got the card, came out through my garage, and took it to my next-door neighbor.  As I was coming back across my front yard, I saw something inside my glass storm door.  When I went to get it, it was a flower pot with three RED TULIPS planted in it!!!  Plus, there was a card and a box of candy.  Another Christian friend, who I do not see very often, dropped them off, while I was gone.  Her name is Doris Harvey.

Immediately, I became emotional, because I know God was confirming the word of a "new season," and He was using red tulips to do it!  Through the two of you and another friend, God sent me red tulips to let me know a new season is coming for me.  But, He got my initial attention through the flowers you sent, which, again, was a vase full of fresh flowers, with one red tulip!  Then, He placed it on the heart of someone else to bring more red tulips.  And, get this...I love tulips.  They are one of my favorite flowers.  I just know there is something significant to the fact that God sent RED tulips.  There must be something about all of them being red.  I haven't figured that out, yet.

So, I just had to share this story with the two of you.  When we are being obedient, and thinking we are doing one thing, God is about doing so much more.  Had there been anything different about today, and had I not been obedient to take the gift card from the florist over to my neighbor, I would have missed finding the red tulips inside my storm door.  Thank you, so much, for the flowers!  I called my friend, who brought the additional red tulips, and told her this incredible story.  She told me how to plant the tulip bulbs, so they would continue to come up each Spring.  That way, I will have "stones of remembrance."  Joshua 4:1-9

What a great Valentine's Day I have had!  Thank you, both, for making it the great day that it is!! "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you."  Philippians 1:3 (KJV)

Blessings & prayers,
Doris

Tulip

My precious friend...I thought you could use some light-hearted news.  I have been on the hunt about tulips. I did just a little surfing.  Here is what I found:

TULIP (GENERAL) -
Perfect Lover, Frame, Flower Emblem of Holland
TULIP (RED) -
Believe Me, Declaration of Love

This makes the "red" that much more special.  If the red tulips do not turn out to represent a human being, my thinker thinks that perhaps God is trying to tell me to believe Him, and my thinker thinks that perhaps God is trying to tell me He loves me.  Or, perhaps, He is trying to tell me to believe Him--there will be love.  Whatever the significance of the red tulips is, it is an exciting word, and it is an exciting way that God chose to get my attention.  This has been fun!

Blessings & Glory,
Doris
